HRH Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana
She’s here and she is adorable! On Saturday May 2, 2015, at 8:34 am, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their daughter into the world! We now know that William and Kate have named her Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. Isn’t that just adorable?? Here is a look back at the last two days so you can relive all those sweet moments!
Kensington Palace was excellent at keeping the waiting world up-to-date on everything!
Prince William left the Lindo Wing to return to Kensington Palace to pick up George and bring him to meet his new little sister! Doesn’t this picture just melt your heart?
Soon after, Prince George returned to KP and William and Kate debuted their new little Princess to the world!
She looks like a little baby doll! Fast asleep!
Then the Cambridges drove back to KP to join George and start their life as a family of 4. They are expected to stay at KP one more night and then move to their country home Anmer Hall in Norfolk.
Today, Kensington Palace released a press statement telling the world that the new Princess has a name: HRH Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge! She will be known as Princess Charlotte!
Yesterday, Carole and Michael Middleton, Pippa, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall were spotted driving into KP to visit the Cambridge family.
The entire UK has lit up pink in honor of the arrival of the new Princess! BT Tower, the London Eye and the London Bridge all donned a pink color!
Also, Niagra Falls had pink lights to honor the new Princess.
Media has been camped out at Kensington Palace since the couple arrived there on Saturday.
The name Charlotte Elizabeth Diana is significant for many reasons:
-Charlotte is the feminine version of Charles
-Charlotte is Pippa Middleton’s middle name
-Charlotte, daughter of George III was designated the title of Princess Royal in 1789. T–The new princess is expected to inherit this title one day. (Info from Victoria Arbiter)
-Elizabeth is Kate’s middle name as well as her mother Carole’s
-Elizabeth is an obvious nod to Queen Elizabeth, the baby’s Great-Grandmother
-Diana is a loving tribute to her paternal Grandmother
The Great Kate Wait is now officially over! We have now seen it all! Kate going into labor, having the baby, Prince George visiting his new sister, William and Kate presenting her to the world and finding out what her name is! It has been a fun ride!
Things to watch for in the future:
Family Photos: When George was born, the Duke and Duchess released two family photos taken by Michael Middleton. It is not known when the photos will be released but sometime in the near future! Prepare yourself for adorableness!
The Christening: It is thought that the christening of Princess Charlotte will be held in July before the Queen heads to Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
Kate’s Next Engagements: It is also speculated that Kate won’t be seen officially until Trooping the Colour in June. It has been said that Kate will be undertaking less engagements in the nearby future as she can stay home to bond with and care for her two children.
More about being on BBC Radio
On Saturday afternoon, I received a tweet from a woman saying that they were looking for Kate fans from around the world to give their thoughts on the new birth and then asked if I would be willing to go on air! Being the huge Royal fan that I am, I jumped at the opportunity!
She asked me to email her and so I did and then I received a phone call from her! It was so surreal! She asked me questions like: Why do you like the Royals? What do you think the baby will be named? How long have you had your blog? What do you think makes the Royals special?
Of course, I had no problem answering any of these questions. Our conversation was brief and then she told me that they would call me back in an hour and I would be live! I waited eagerly for the call! I finally got it and the interview probably lasted about 3 minutes total, but it was so much fun! I would definitely do it again!
Thats all for today! Tune in next week! 🙂
